Tassie Bash
« on: September 10, 2011, 09:27:40 AM »
G'day trendsetters - been a while! Well we just finished the Tasmanian Variety Bash in the Magic Bus and i'm pleased to say that we had only one issue - our thermo fan melted at the end of day one - right out the front of the local wreckers - walked straight in grabbed a new second hand one (which the owner of the wreckers kindlt donated) and 30 minutes later off we went!

We didnt take out the major prize this year but the judges did come by later and told us that as we won it last year we were unable to win it this year (nudge nudge wink wink they said) so reading between the lines - we were pretty happy.

For those that remember last years theme of the Odd Squad, Jonny went nuts this year with the Tassie Devil and flower power! The van came up a treat and attracted people everywhere we went, we installed a bar in her this year as well as a fully working fridge (which we really missed last year) A disco ball, a lava lamp and other little trinkits - next year the bash heads for Hamilton Island - we have no idea of theme as yet for the van but we are definately going as the hippies again - bring it on.

I have posted some extra pics in the gallery and will upload some more as they come to hand

Cheers

Well done, again Mezz.

Your van looks amazing, even with a theme change. No doubt you had a great time and raised a fair bit of money too. When time allows allows I'd love to see the van and get some tips from you.

Thanks for putting up the photos,

Adrian.

Thanks Adrian, yeah we raised $23000.00 so we were pretty chuffed - overall the total for all the bashers came in at 1.15 million - not bad for a bunch of drunken rednecks!!! anytime you want a look mate, let me know.

Hey Benny & Wazza - when the weather warms up we should go for a run down the peninsula or Phillip Island again, always a few spots along the way for a nice cold bevvie!!See how many of the punters we can get involved.

Cheers

Mezz
