Lyndon I had a look at some of the photos and you have a t700 4L60 so a non electric trans. Best to get a VN workshop manual on cd  the 1 below is only $8 and go through the steps of adjusting the Throttle Valve cable (TV cable) aka kickdown cable first. It will also have the diagnostics for checking the electrical part ie speed sensor etc.
