Hey guys,
I'm looking at trying to source a captains chair and or swivel chair.
Any ideas of how to go about this?

You could try this

http://www.vanseats.com.au/products/swivel_van/swivel_van.html

or I saw a toyota campa 4 sale with swivel seats
take seats and re sell
http://perth.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-for-Sale-van-ute-Townace-vans-must-sell-2-for-1200-W0QQAdIdZ68271762

Yeah I know your in Brizzy and this is in perth but look at that sort of option locally or find a crowd in brizzy that decks out campers.
best of luck. 8)
If you like it do it, If you like it a lot do it a lot!

Look up KAB Seating in your area they will have what you are after but be warned they are very expensive as their products are all ADR approved

Maymann,

I found some trick ones on Ebay motors on the Ebay USA site (not Ebay Australia).
If you ship them by sea (3 months) the quotes I got were around $300.
Depending on what you get the chairs for, you may consider doing it.
I had some really good ones lined up and then got outbid...

I'm always on the look out! Another nice option are the 70's models Mercedes seats.
Driver and passenger have big built in arm rests. I have seen these seats in wreckers often
just rotting away... The Merc ones wouldn't be a straight fit - they would have to be re-sprung
and re-trimmed.

My mate is an auto trimmer so no seat is 'un-fixable' think I may go the Merc
option if I can't find the captains seats.  ;)

If you're handy or have access to a workshop you could make your own swivel bases. I made mine and they work well and are certified. I was going to take some pics of them and post on the other site for someone but forgot. Now it's been raised here as well I'll get onto it and post some pics.

Garry.

Or use Delica seats - they mount on easy bolt on flat-to-the-floor rails and are only $270 including seatbelts...
