Hey mezz, great pics mate, great van. With your twin tanks and surge tank, do you have pics of the set-up, did you build custom tanks, or use 2 beddy ? I ask because i am planning on doing twin tanks in mine, and have been looking at a raft of options. The reason for me doing it is that, being in a chair, with the cruiser i run the main tank [90lts] and when i switch to the reserve tank [50lts] i know to keep an eye out and get the truck topped up. The beauty is i dont run out and get stranded. The chances of me doing a bash like you is remote, but as we all know the good old beddy makes us do things we would normally not do. Appreciate any advice and pics of your tanks set-up, thanks mate.

g'day George,

i'll post some pics when i find my camera!! it's a real basic set up - standard beddie main tank running into a surge tank, the rear tank (currently vn commodore) has an external pump running fuel from that tank to the beddie tank when a top up is required.

Are you running fuel injection George?

Hey Mezz.....That rear tank, do you turn the external pump on yourself or is it automatic? :-\

Hey Mezz, thanks for that. I have the VP EFI motor in mine 3.8.
My hummer had 3 tanks in it, with 2 fillers, 2nd filler filled the 3rd tank which ran into the 2nd tank, it used to take a while to fill lol  ;) Do you have a separate gauge for 2nd tank ?  How do you know to switch to the reserve tank, do you have a light or something simular to the cruiser to tell you its getting low.
These Qs and more will be answered in the next thrilling episode of : Beddy Fuel Tanks   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  oooppps got carried away. Thanks mezz.

Hi George,

'and now....for the most exciting answer the world has ever known.......(getting carried away too - used to love the Chiken Man radio show!!!)

When we did the first set up we were busting for time to get the beast ready for scrutineering so we really did short cut a few things - fuel set up being one of them - we had it working so that was good enough. We didn't have a separate gauge in fact the one gauge we did have didnt work!!! This time i have rerun all the hosing, refitted the Surge tank to a better location and managed to get the gauge working. I am thinking now of installing a second gauge but i'll see how i go with that one, i'm still trying to work out wether i'll change the rear tank.

stay tuned!
