This is an original UK Bedford PR photo. It appears to be the Electric model with a body kit and a few extras.

The bumper cowling is the same as on Wobbly Bob's yellow drag van, with added spoiler. Very nice.  8)

Nebs .
My first love for Bedfords came when I saw a van in Durban in a shop window at the bottom end of West Street back in '76 called "L'il Blue Mule" I think the price was R12000.00 at the time ,for me it would have been 3 years salary so it put it out of reach back then - Any idea of what happened to it  or do you have pics of this van?

Hi Bean,

I remember the van. Unfortunately I lost pics of it.
I drooled over Lil Blue Mule. I was for sale at "Love Motors" in Smith street.
John Love had it built for himself.
He sold Escort and Combi Panelvans semi customised from this shop. (Durban Surfers transport)
This was Lil Blue Mule, but was dark Royal Blue where yellow on pic and light metallic blue with airbrushwork on back where tan on pic.
I was driving this Transit (daily transport) with Frazetta airbrushings at the time, while I was building my first CF (this blue and white van)
This green Bedford used to park at bottom end of West street (close to Point road) Was my main inspiration to finish my Beddy.
