Hi,

I spotted this blue van in 1990 in germany. Sorry but I do not know from which car the lights come. Conversions with Chevy Van parts were popular at that time. Hella would also be possible.

Well came across these while cleaning up, a bit water damaged but ok

Red one is UFO, Green back one is Joint effort ran a 4.1 Falcon motor, Silver one has a chev front and the other a Holden grill by the looks of it.

From the 80's,  Auckland Custom Van Show.

Shame these vans have a horrible end, even that "mirror image" was last heard of was up on blocks rusting away out south Auckland somewhere.

I've got some photos of a custom bedford with full murals that was hit in the front, this was back in the 80's, think it was called barbarian. Was the first and last time I ever saw it but I remember running home to grab my hanamax 500 camera and taking lots of photos of the interior. I'll try dig them out

There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

Here's a couple of shots of Mirror Image at a show we held here in Wellington.

Grant, who owned it was a boat builder (is now drag racing in the states), fibre glass (and ply) side skirts and flares, 350 chev ..., they put a commodore front suspension in it to get it real low but because it was so low it always looked top heavy - needed a roof chop

Ah good memories.
The front end on UFO was the second it had after the first one met a sad end with a stone wall. Owned/builder Graham Hill founded Parlour Vans here in Auckland and is still around travelling the country in a big black Hino bus with cowboy murals on it. The silver van was owned by Jim & Bernie Bainbridge and was running a 350 chev and were members of Auckland Custom Vans. Joint Effort was also a Parlour Vans vehicle.
Mirror Image was with West City Custom Vans and although it looked the part, didn't drive too well with the commodore suspension and used to bump steer a bit. Would have looked awesome with a roof chop as it was pretty low already.
I'll see if I can dig some old pics out.

Cheers,
Garry.
