Prince Philip once used a green 1980 CF Electric van for transport around London and trips between Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle. It was retired because of the inconvenience of charging, and it's quietness meant other drivers couldn't hear it come up behind them.

The Royal Bedford Van is currently garaged at their Sandringham estate.

The EV CF isn't as quiet as you imagine... you hear the whine of the electric motor, and the noise of the tires, wind, suspension rattles and brake squeaks...

Apparently the Royal Beddie is fitted out as a seven seater limousine and was in regular use for six years. Another article said the royals had two Lucas CF-E vans.
