Gen 3

Guys,and any Gals,I have a LWB motorhome with 186 and Trimatic. It's slow up hills,go figger, and have aquired a Gen 3 Ls1 and 4L60e auto to slip into it. I have sourced a rear hump sump from the USA,and found a electrician who makes a stand alone loom. I obviously want to put disks on the front (I have read all the disk brake posts) but don't know if these posts and bearing sizes are applicable to the LWB. Any suggestions/comments welcomed.

LWB discs have been an issue for a while. I have been trying to chase up a machinist to make new hubs that will take a disc and still have the original 6 stud pattern. I haven't had any luck yet but then machinists are a bit thin around here. If you can find someone willing to make some, I and others will be very keen.
The only solution at the moment is to fit HQ discs to the front and carry 2 spare wheels.

has anybody looked at f250 discs? also i have looked at fitting the gen3 and found it to be wider than the old holden v8 but a lot lower (no carby or dizzy) so am mounting mine under/between the seats .benifits are,more leg room ,better handling and less engine noise in the cab .i just sold my 5.7 am now going for the 6.0 .(i can legally go to 6.3 in my van)   cheers Neil

What makes you say you can "legally go to 6.3" and is that a national or state figure

you can redrill the bedford axles to HQ stud pattern

Warren                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    I looked it up on the WA transport site in the ADR rules according to the power to weight formula 6.3 litre is the largest engine capacity to the weight of my van i can have  should be plenty stout for my application I be thinkin!!!
