Goodna caravan park is completly under water, my mate in Bundamba is miles from the creek and from his front door he can see the water, power is long gone and all acces roads out are blocked

at least the rain has eased up a bit, but the real story will be at 1400hrs today, 3 hrs from now when that king tide rolls in. I have just seen footage of the main street in ipswich, and where i used to patrol when i worked security is now about 6to8 meters under water. How much longer can it go on, 6 months ago we were in drought, now we have had non stop rain for a month, the grass is greener then green. So far my van has not floated away, but i am keeping a close eye out, i have water in my garage where the cruiser is, but the beddy is dry for now. I moved all my electronics into the van yesterday, for safe keeping.

What a disaster!
Thinking of all the people whose lives have been changed by the floods.
Not something you can bounce right back from; it takes a long time to get it all dry and fixed and clean. And nowhere clean to live in the meantime.
Not to mention the worry of whether this might possibly be a new recurring weather pattern.

Funny old life.

G'day

My sympathies go out to all having dramas with excess water.
Our place is still a mess from last month. We had water through the house and worse... through the shed. Just about everything with wheels got bogged. I have got my tilt tray out but my fork lift is still bottomed out. There are still areas that are slushy to walk on. It rained again today.
Bah humbug, give me a drought any year.
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

Seen on another website:

There are reports of Queenslanders on boats trying to enter NSW waters. Abbott has promised to put a stop to it.

Unfortunately there is a lot of misinformation when it comes to why this has happened and why more dams weren't built.

Once this water subsides people will be angry, but not because of our government or councils. Anger will be a natural stage that everyone who lost their houses and property  will go though, they will want to direct their anger at someone and anyone and the government/councils will be the easy target for them.

Please lets not post speculations and theory's in these forums. We don't want to feed rubbish information to these fragile people that will be looking for answers that really don't exist.

Shane
