the t700 does go on 253's you will need a adaptor plate from castlemain rod shop i think where its from and will bolt up sweet and is a very good combo good for fuel economy too. We did it in our van and its great drives like a dream and keeps the revs low on freeways and they have a lockup convertor in it correct me if i am wrong, but its way better then the t350 if its for a cruser
No matter what condition a beddy crusing down the road will always get a long hard stare

the adapter plate will probaby cost more than the gearbox eddy. and tubro700's in standard form arnt overly strong. about as strong as a t350.

whats the lowest youll take for the whole van jimmy

hey yeeah hearing you ben, but isn't the t700 four speed as opposed to 3 speed t350? towed the caravan up north and back a couple of times and no probs with the t700 behind the VS v6, motor just lacking a trifle little bit in the ooomph department. The Pajero 3.8 and 'flick the shift' gearbox was great though   ;)  ooh yeeah jap power .... the beddie comes engineered withthe 253 so have to keep that in it for rego purposes, its just that the ozzie 4 speed is a little bit iffy if you know what I mean, had experiences when driving and the gear lever coming loose in my hand, bit of a bother if that happens with 3 tons of weight travelling on a windy road  ;)

eddy i think it would be worth while spending a bit and getting the tranny beefed  up a bit. much easier to do it while its already out than have something go wrong up woop woop!

the best thing about t700 is the locking tourqe converter, lock it in 3rd towing your van and tranz fluid is no longer  getting hot. exactly what you want for towing
