Long time bedford owner
« on: September 14, 2010, 10:20:47 PM »
Hi There all Bedford Van Fans!!
been on this site a few months n finally got round to introduce ourselves. We have had numerous bedfords and transits while traveling round australia in our younger days. Though we would never own another van due to finding one without rust .....untill we found one on ebay that had spent all its life out in tamworth. The guy said it had no rust ! yeah right! Hey!! We hit jack pot it had virtaully no rust!?!? ..yet there is always goon n bad news..... we found damage to th front left hand chasis ...Rays been a mechanic all his working life,  with welding a handy skill, we decided we could take on this van for a full resto ! were not doing it to show stardard just everyday work horse...n the budget wont allow it either...were trying to keeping the van as standard as we can yet modifying brakes, gear box, diff, back door, seats & belts  etc so its  very practicle....so  A BIG thanxgoes to the guys who runthis site! Its great to have such a pool of beddy knowledge here...love checkin out all the pics too!. So anyone in the Lake Macquarie, Newcastle area love to hear from you...maybe should organise a get together sometime...any takers out thr?
happy vaning
Cheers Wendy & Ray

Hey Wendyh, welcome aboard. good to hear you're diving in head first.
With the hoppers stoppers hubs you are talking about, did you get them from the people that supply hoppers stoppers?
If so, do they supply the parts seperately?

I really only want the hub and the mounting bracket out of the hoppers kit, but hoppers stoppers will only sell it complete (typical)
If you have any contact details, or know the company personally I'd be interested to discuss it further

Cheers,
Matte

OK OK lads ...re hubs... all we can sugest is call hopper stoppers n ask if they seperate9 I think they wiill ) ...i gather they will as they have only sold two kits for bedfords so they are still in the getting it right stage as we had to machine the hubs slightly to fit as the thingy( sorry rays isnt here to ask correct name will get the correct porcedure tonight when rays home and post here 4 u)...i mentioned to ray to let them know so they can fix that for future beddy fans who may not be as handy as Ray is with this sorta stuff...Ok Reid we will take some close up pics of brakesfor you tonite n load them up....Thanx for ur welcome mark!! if you look in the  gallery page 5 under wendyh i have a pic of Ateam beddy as my front pic of my album... you will see i have loaded up heaps of pics of our beddy and its stages of restoration...were at the sanding stage at present...aaaahhhhhh bloody sanding !$%#&^@!!! im over it n the undercoat hasnt even gone on yet !!!!
