Front Door Window Rubbers
« on: August 21, 2010, 01:57:33 PM »
Hi guys, I have just been down to clark rubber, and it looks like i may be able to get some of the rubbers from them. Does anyone have a pic of the complete rubber set-up for the front door glass, top-bottom and sides. What i have on my van is a mish mash from the previous owner, and i know that when it rained my van leaked like crazy, so i know that what i have is not genuine rubbers.

I've got some new GM genuine parts that I bought many years ago sitting in the garage. I'll try and take some pictures tomorrow.

Thanks Rogue, would really appreciate it. I got this pic from the NZ site that sells beddy rubber, correct me, is this the rubber for the bottom of the window where it goes into the door ?

Man i am confused with all these shapes. lol. I can see how it would fit the windscreen now. yep. Its like the bloody shrink and his pics of shapes. lol  ;D
Hi obssesion, i am looking to replace ALL the rubbers for the side front door windows, bottom, top and both sides, up till now i have just been running with the mish mash of rubbers that the previous owners have used. I want to completely seal the side glass to keep the rain out. I got a box of samples from clark rubber yesterday, so tomorrow i will test fit my samples to see what seals. Guy at clarks seems to think that the piece that fits in the top of the doors glass opening is from a chev, but he was not sure.
Maybe some of the guys in NZ can confirm a suspicion, the rubber that goes in the top, does that follow through and down the sides to meet up with the rubber in the bottom where the pinch weld rubber goes on each side on the bottom sill ? I am trying to be clearer then mud. Sorry if i am not. lol  ;D ???

Nope, they are all separate bits. I thought I had a full set here but obviously I was dreaming. Still it was about 17 years ago I bought these. I have the same two parts for both doors. I have the top section and the front. I had a look at the rear one and that is still in good serviceable order so probably why I didn't buy a new one.

Anyway this first one is the top section.

And this is the front section.

Hope that helps a bit.

Thanks rogue, the top strip is the bit he thinks maybe a chev part originally. The front bit, can i assume that it just snaps into place inside the door cavity ? All the samples i got yesterday now have metal impregnated into them, so should last a while. Ok now i need to see what the original strip looks like for the botttom, i got a sample,it is 2 part, it is pinchweld and then a part that hugs the glass, i will get a pic and show you.

I got some window channel stuff for my custom van, basically the back edge one now does the whole lot.
