Who's online
« on: August 08, 2010, 12:22:23 PM »
Was wondering what people thought about moving who is online to the side under recent posts?
I think it would be good to see who's online with out going back and forth to the front page.
Maybe could asterisk those on the chat site so we could see whos over there or highlight maybe?
If its possible that is! :)
Just a thought!

I'll see what I can do when we do up the new site design. Thanks for the comments.

Hey shane, can i make another suggestion, in the recent posts window, when the window is full we dont know what we have missed, can you set it so that eveytime a new topic is added the window drops down to show all unread topics. Hope i have made myself clearer then mud lol.
george.

That's a relative thing George because if someone hasn't logged on for several weeks or even months, the list would be off the page and then there would have to be some kind of scroll function enabled as well for them unlike someone like yourself who is on every couple of hours and who usually only has a topic or 2 unread.  ;)

If you take a look at the topic icons in the main part of the screen, those already give you an indication if there is something you haven't read. If they are more or less transparent then you've read everything. If they are darker then there is something still to be read.

Rogue and Ben are right George.

You could also try clinking on the "Recent Posts" button on the left.

In defence of George's idea, it could easily be done using CSS (text:overflow) allowing an automatic scroll if needed.

While were on things we'd like, how about a link under our names to our galleries, quite often I see or read something and have to go hunting in the gallery, thanks
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"
