i love my beddy!
« on: June 11, 2010, 11:56:23 PM »
gday guys its been a while since ive posted anything, im always browsing tho, i just thought i would let u know randomly how much i love my beddy! ( ive had a few drinks! he he)  my beddy rocks! as a daily driver it ticks all the boxes. i love the looks it gets, i love how i can see over the traffic and pick my lane. i love how it drives just like a car, (People how have rolling issues around corners i dont know what ur talking about! my van is sweet around corners!) i love how its unique, and there is hardly any left! i so love seeing other beddies on the road which is getting far and few between ( i maybe see one every two to three months!) i can stick my dirtbike in the back and in 1 hour or so im in the bush and in some of the best trail riding in vic.. then i can fold out my bed and sleep in a warm and cosy place! i love the fact that my van took me and my girlfriend all the way around oz, and if it wasnt for a massive dust storm coming away from uluru, it wouldnt have broken down once! i would love a bit more power and love to have a V8 and with the economy i get with the 202 i think i V8 would not be much different, but maybe with time it will happen! first things first is to get rid of the rust. ive been trying to get a guy to cut out all the rust in my gutters and a few random spots but unfortunately hes almost on his death bed and it might not eventuate... anyone who knows a cheap panel beater/rust repairer in melbs i would love to meet up! i love how my van gets occasional squeaks here and there and i have to be a detective to find and eliminate them ! ive always been an old car nut. my other passion is hr's and im sad that at the moment i cant have both, but one day im going to do up another hr ute like the one i sold to go overseas... so my van is a keeper i will never sell it!  eventually i wil do a bare metal respray and paint it midnight blue. i want to get 15 inch cromies made for it and besides that im totally happy with it. i use it for work and im not looking for a show van, i get into it every day in dirty work gear so if i did it up any more i would be stressed it would get dirty!! as long as it looks cool and goes good im totally happy! not so sure about the green stripes anymore, i did them at the time to have a biit of a different look but now im not so sure... its great to know that i definitely have the only van of its kind in melbs/oz... def. not a commodore thats for sure! what do u think about the stripes? should i keep them? its great knowing im one of a kind! another thing i am looking to change is my diff ratio. at the mo. i run a 3.08 but im thinking  of changing to a 3.55. the reason being is with the 3.08 i cruise at 100 at 2600 rpm. from what ive heard this low gearing means my vacuum would be greater to keep the van at 100, and with a 3.55 the vacuum would be way lower, and even tho the revs are higher, i would use less gas... not sure if this is correct, hope for some feeedback! maybe ill just stick another diff center in there and do the experiment myself. well anyway folks ive been rambling for a while now! theres heaps more reasons why i love my beddy but in my slightly tipsy state i cant think of any more!!!  well take it easy and hope to see yous all at the next melb meet...  westy

Great post, Westy!

I love my beddy, too. Infact, I'm gonna take it to the beach now and have a few beers (midstrengths of course) and listen to some damn fine music while gazing at our beatiful Indian Ocean (just see my gallery). Then I'll curl up in the bean bags and have a nap!

The Bedford Life is good.
