fan belt fun
« on: April 27, 2010, 08:31:06 AM »
anyone ever had this issue?

tighten a fan belt up.. 200km down the road its loose again but the alternator is still in the same position, so tighten it up again until the alternator is sticking way out well past where the top bracket ends and the fan belt ends up the size of a lacker band.. obviouly the belt is wearing down for some reason.

they are old belts im using but should that matter? should i look for something on on of the pulleys thats causing the belt to wear?

its a holden 6.

and it came from cairns lol

cheers
ben

merlin l think you hit it on yhe head, or someone from Cairns put a under sizebelt on, or check the brackets. You dont have to youse a stocking cos l've yoused shoe laces a couple of times
make it reliable, or smash it with a big hammer
