what where ya doing there blackbedford

G'day

I was working, putting in new printers around the area.
Last week week I did over 2000kms going to places like
Lightning Ridge and Bourke dodging kangaroos, emus, camels and plague locusts.

As you can see a lot of roads are long and flat.

On Thursday night I skidded through a mob of cattle that were on the road between Brewarrina and Coolabah.

How I didn't hit any was a sort of miracle. In a wider van I most certainly would have.

We have been in drought for the best part of 10 years but we now have flood waters coming out of Queensland that are the size of Great Britain. Dry creeks are now 50kms wide. It has been a game getting around flooded roads and washed away bridges. I drove into Brewarrina only to find out the road to Bourke had just been closed due to bridge failure. I had to take a 240km diversion.

The old bridge at Bourke:

My van does a LOT of miles and works HARD.
A couple of shots of the van with loads on:

Most of those loads involved trips of well over 100kms. I am very happy with the Carry. It is cheap to run and very reliable. Gotta get a Bedford back on the road though.

The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!
