Coutryfied beddie
« on: April 07, 2010, 06:20:27 PM »
the big move to the country is less than 90 days away ....anyone wanna buy a slightly used good second hand house in North Ringwood? comes with a couple of motors and beddie parts in the garage  8) ..... got me thinking about how to country proof the beddie on the country roads ..... bull bar? spot lights? aerials? was up at Shepparton on the weekend and noticed how many flying dinasours are splatted on the front of the vehicles .... fair dinkum some were as big as black hawk helicopters ... so do I put a flyscreen panel on the front of the van so the radiator doesn't clog up? doent like the look of the bull bar but I'm tipping I'm going to be doing alot of highway and back road kays ..... how do you kill the roo before it makes contact with the bonnett? or more concerningly how do you kill the roo and throw it to the side before it hits the front of the van? roo bars are so .... 80s  ::)

Eddy on the night driving in the bush.

Dont know if the wistle things work, but they are worth a try.

Run two sets of driving lights, one with needle beams straight down the road, and another with a wide spread pointing out to the sides by 10 to 15 degrees.

The needle beam is for driving and the spreads are for spotting those pesky hoping rats on the side of the road.

When you see one on the side of the road drop to low beam, as they are drawn to the bright light.

When you look like collecting one that is on the road, brake hard at first (to reduce your speed)  but when your close stop breaking and let the nose of the van come back up, that way their more likely to go under the van instead of into and up over the bonnet.
