My van let me down the other night, no headlights no taillights no brake lights and an intermittent stereo.
I had to leave it on the side of the road and drive it home when it got light, still if it only lets me down every few years with the amount of effort Ive put in I am happy
Does anyone in Perth know a good auto electrician pref Ossy Pk type of area, I have less than 2 weeks to fix the problem or I  be making the trip.

im guessing you've checked all the fuses and globes and still have the dramas..
I know a great auto leccy, but he's shut up shop, and im not sure if he's doing house calls to the general public. I can find out tho.
In the meantime, call around and try to find an old bloke that knows his stuff, as they'll usually give the best service and price.

Matte
It is not the globes as all lights have gone off brake, tail & headlights.
It isnt the fuses because Ive checked them and because they shouldnt all be on the same fuse.
The radio was cutting in and out so I reckon water has got in somewhere and has shorted something out in the wiring.
The wiring is half home handyman and also a fair bit has been replaced by someone else and the rest is standard.  I know the home handyman really well, and can vouch for the fact he isnt very handy. So I would bet on the wiring.
I would have a go at causing more wiring issues myself but with only a few days to the 2nd May, I will never get there in time.
I am working late weekdays and am going away on weekends so I am about stuffed.  I might use yellow pages and resign myself to paying too much.
At least the problem isnt intermittent, it is well and truly stuffed.
In saying all that I checked the wiring at night and with no lights in the van, by the light from my mobile phone, so it may be something easy I missed

cheers
Dave
