to be honest i'd think you'd find most bases are!!!! probably better of welding some new frames up?

nev might be right, weld it, grind it, paint it and if need be drace it on the in side with a bit of strap
make it reliable, or smash it with a big hammer

Hey GG do you have a MIG or Oxy ??

The seat bases crack in certain places (usually around the mounting bolts) so I would suggest repairing the base and then reinforcing it with 20x3mm flat steel on both the top and bottom edges.

The flat steel coul possibly be welded on the iside of the bases, hiding it even further.

A lot of the damage to the bases is done by the base stretching around the bolt area (which is sheet steel), the thicker material spreads the load over a greater surface area dramaticly reducing the likelyhood of any further cracking.

All the repairs could be done for very little cash and a bit of time.

Just to add, I think that the steel required to make a new base has to be 25x25x3 mm tubing.

Check the ADRs

another thought..

early models came with the bases welded to the floor. they were welded on the inside and out. about 4, 1 inch long welds outside and 4 inside too.

if you cant be bothered repairing you could always just weld them to the floor like i usually do. sorry furio..

i find is quicker than stuffing around with bolts and all that. just not so easy to take out. but how oftern do you plan on taking your beddy seat bases out anyway???

just ideas..
cheers
ben

I was having a look at mine yesterday, and they are welded in like Ben said. Mine is a 1975 truck.
