radiator fun
« on: March 03, 2010, 05:16:31 AM »
everyone wants to save a quid.

ive never bought a good radiator new but ive herd they are damn expensive..

has anyone tried running 2 easy to come by 3 cores in seris? i know it sounds stupid but i have enough room to stand between my radiator and my engine and i could fit 2 more radiators in there if i was really keen:)

i was thinking out of one top into another bottom then back into the motor.

what about commadore radiators. they are so thin. i recon i could fit 5 of those in my engine bay. hmmm that would almost be as good as air conditioning!!!!!!

by having them in series you would be effecting air flow wouldn't you?

yeh but no different to a 5 core radiator or whatever its just spaced out a bit more. might be able to run thermos on both radiators?? now im getting carried away. my 4 core does a plenty good job, just at idle needs to pump a bit more water so ive been told today to get it to spin a bit faster get a smaller pulley for the water pump. cheers ben (on my sissters computer and its without an enter key|!! arg)

I got a 3 core cross flow commodore radiator which just fits in at 670mm for $30 and I've never ever overheated again! Sits comfortably just above the blue even in 45 degree heat, at idle.
1976 SWB CF, 186 block, LPG customised VK EFI self ported Head, LPG converted Ram tube manifold, Extractors, Supra 5 speed, Falcon hwy Diff, HQ Disc brakes, Commodore 3 core cross-flow radiator, HEI, 90 litre LPG.
It can drive up a wall in 5th gear and across the Sun without overheating!
