about machining stubs, i personally think its a disaster waiting 2 happen machineing stub axles. .

hey mate, doesn't look too good.
Clean the grease off with a rag and some petrol and then take a photo of the stub where it has sheared off, so we can see it it has fatigued or just broken. Do the same with the other half of the stub.
Also that door doesn't loo too bad, you should be able to fix that no worries, just pull the guard out a bit first and it'll be fine.

It also looks like it has broken the caliper, is this the case? if so what sort of calipers are they?

i will do that when im at me mates workshop again clean grease and take more photos i have to take messurements too  will be there this weekend as i want to go to the wreckers and get a hq stub axle and calipar and get the van fixed so i can bring it back to mine im still worried even when i fix it afraid its going to happen again i might even check the other side too want to fix it so i can bring it back to mine or if not see if i can use one of me mates hoist in his workshop and start my v8 conversion as i just brought a v8 for it whooooo hoooooo this is where the fun begins and headaches i guess lol but it gets easy only cos i have all you guys on here who have been through these headaches lol  thanks guys lol

You could get them crack-tested. An engine reconditioner would do this for you.

you need to get the disc rotor machined to the size of the bedford stub bearings - NOT the other way round.
This is likely to have happened because the stub was machined.. as you may have noticed from the posts above, this is a big no no.

but in terms of getting machining done, most brake joints, and all engineering works can do this for you.

jim stop. read through all the brake posts on here before you do anything. understand what you need to do before you go and buy hq stub axels, bedford stub axels, bearings. it will save you a lot of time and money. there are people on here that have done what your about to do/fix.

dont ask questions until you have read everything on here cause all this is already explained in older posts. use the search function. and have a look in the categories in the main forum bit.

If you get an HQ stub axle you will have to convert the other side as well as by the look of the photos you have Bedford stubs with an HQ caliper conversion kit. HQ stubs don't fit straight up and you will have a lot more work to make them fit. They are also smaller stub axles and in light of the fact that you have already had one stub axle snap you should be trying to keep them as large as possible. Stick with the bedford ones. Perhaps even try and find the larger later model ones and then just get the discs machined.

The instructions and measurements for setting up the discs and bearings are in the 'Technical Documentation' section. You can find this under 'Downloads' in the Main Menu to the left. There is also a post that I started a long time ago with the bearing part numbers listed for the later model stub axle. Have a bit of a search. You should find it easily.

Hey Jim, we have just finished doing our disc brake conversion just b4 xmas, the only thing we did to the stubs was to polish them b4 moving forward. We sourced most of our parts from a place near you, castlemaine rod shop, and what we did not get from them, we got from a supplier here in brissy, but only after reading the posts here and getting some good advice. B4 I drive my van out of the workshop, I will be getting my engineer to sign off on all modifications. No inspection - no drive. I dont want someones injuries or death on my head.
