Front end bushes and bits?
« on: August 12, 2008, 01:23:20 PM »
My steering rack is in need of a rebuild. Does anybody know if this same rack was used by any other type of vehicle as I need to track down parts. I went tinto Pedders for a front end check and I got a list of  parts that need replacing, but they can only supply a few. I have seem a lot of rebuilds on this site so the parts must be available from somewhere.

 Any help would be awesome!

Gday Tweaker

The rack is unique to Beddies. All the front end parts are available but nobody has the old books with Bedfords in them anymore.

Ball Joints

Upper All - BJ24 @ RRP $97

Lower upto chassis CY636000 BJ268 @ RRP $140
41.5mm

Lower from chassis DY600001 BJ148 @ RRP $145
43.2mm

Tie Rod Ends All TE476R @ RRP $84.25

Tie Rods All RE5270

Pedders do the bushes, I dont have the part numbers though

Cheers

Hi There,

There's a joint in Aussie www.bac.com.au who are suppliers of Superflex from the UK, (though says it's all made is Aussie?!?!) who do the full set of bushes (front & rear) for CF's. Attached is a PDF Catalogue just on the Bedford Range.  www.superflex.co.uk/

The prices weren't as high as they are shown either!
Hope this helps.

Joel

I took two racks to a steering guy and he put the best bits in one rack. Feels fine to me but the missus hates driving it.
