kero? are you not taking a chance with your paint job?

i worked in a window factory for over a year... ended up being the glass cutter but for the first six months i was installing the glass into the frames.

all we used was a lot of dish washing liquid and water... sort of the consistency of what you would make for a child to blow bubbles.

makes it all slippery and it pops straight in. if i had to chose i would be going merlins method with the soapy water to lubricate the insertion.

(skippy bait)

palmolive its...

If your window rubbers are the type with the locking strip you can use a coathanger old steel one bend the corner into a teardrop ,insert it into the groove and thread the locking rubber into it
like a needle and thread.and depending on the contour of the window rubber if its possible face the lock strip inwards.
ur a bedford owner ....adapt overcome work it out

able, kero is fine with the paint and with the rubber, woodsies recommended it infact. Didn't cause me any issues and i got it all over the place. dishwashing liquid would be fine too but i'd guess you'd want to apply it neat or more often.
The rope trick would be good, but i think it'd be better with larger windows, as with small windows the rubbers move around alot so it may or may not be more difficult.

Thanks for the advice fellas!!

Sorry it has taken a while to get back here and read up...who would've thought having a new bub would impede on my Bedford time?!?!

Anyway, some great advice all 'round... Mostly I guess I gotta get my hands on the rubber needed, and then get stuck in!  Can't wait.

Then there's the custom carpet.. the interior lining...the disco ball....the fit out...the...the.. Ah, we love a Bedford list!!

At least the new horn sounds..well, er.. "horn":-)

Cheers again

Brett

make it reliable, or smash it with a big hammer

Hey i'm lookin at puttin in some standard windows / sliding windows in the side of my beddy as it has none at the moment.
What stage of the build would be best to do this?
Before / After bodywork/painting/whatever?

For the record, i want to put windows in because i'm planning some dicky seats in the back, and i've heard without windows in the back, visibility while driving is terrible
