Don't know what it was originally.  It has flares but there is probably enough room in there to fit another wheel (inside the flares that is)

It looks like it maybe a dual from your gallery, but measure the inside distance between the wheel boxes.
single =1.27m   ....................   dual = 1.08m.
How's the dog progressing?
