LWB shell 9" and steel 1 peice rear door
« on: February 01, 2010, 05:49:36 PM »
Hey guys i've been swaying too a frow with this idea for a while and i'm putting it up for sale as it's going to be too long until I do anything with it.  I want my room back (i Live in my shed with bedford)

The story goes like this.  I bought the van from Qld years ago unseen apart from photos, did have a 350 in it with qld mod plates.  Was told it had a roof chop with fibreglass thick enough to walk on (truth is it was a few layers of glass ontop of some chipboard.  The body is pretty dam good it has some rust spots but easily seen and easily fixed.

I payed $400 for the shell and an extra $600 for the 9" diff in it plus after that I bought a 1 piece steel tailgate from a guy who bought it off Marty (top guy) from this site and then sold it with out even picking it up and stuffing him around for $100 or 200 more than he paid for it.  I think I ended up paying $700 or something like that.

Best offer will most likely get it but won't give in to anything.  Just letting people here know before I possibly put it on ebay.  I love bedfords and one day I will own one on the road but at this time in my life I need to do things that can set me up for later in life.  With some big changes soon to be made

Forgot to mention it has a disk brake front end and the 9" is disk too.  twin exhaust as well.

Couple of questions asked today is one is the disk break front end able to be put into a SWB

and question 2 same with the 9" can it fit a SWB

it's a shame you're not in perth, it sounds quite good.
Good luck with the sale

If your van was a dual rear wheel model, the back axle would need the spring platforms welded onto a new position, unless the spring hangers have been moved, but all OK if it was a single rear wheel model. Maybe the driveshaft would need modification in either case.
I THINK the discs will fit if it was a dual rear wheel model but someone else may be able to confirm that.
Once again, they will fit if it was a single rear wheel model.

had a good chat to owen today doofhard.

front discs will swap atraigt over. and the rear diff just needs mounts welded on top instead of underneath for the lwb. single wheel vans are pretty rare here jeff.

cheers
