Mickey Thompson Indy tyres wanted
« on: January 27, 2010, 07:55:45 PM »
G'day all.

I'm chasing a pair of front tyres for SWB. Mickey Thompson Indy profile.

G50 or about a 245 width to suit a 14 inch rim.

They stopped making them about a year ago. If anyone knows of a tyre shop that still has some, or even any roadworthy second hand ones, please PM me.

Same tyres as on 'The Judge'.

Cheers..

Try the tyre brand Toyo Proxes S/T ( made in Japan) you won't find better, well that's what I find. They do up to a 295 / 50

i hate tyres!!!!!! my camber is way out dont ask me what the bloke did to this van but i put it back to standard ride height and the vans scrubbing out much worse on the inside than it was before when it was really low. now if im right when you lift up the van it should change the camber to scrub the outside more than the inside but its doing the opposite. any ideas anyone?

Ben, check that he hasn't packed out the bottom wishbone with shims on the beam. Because that could do it I think. Or very loose wheel bearings.
Funny old life.

the change would of all so affected the toe in/out
And you thought owning a bedford was going to be easy.

I'm with Matty. Check the toe. I've been doing a bit of research because I need to reset the front ride height of mine and apparently if your toe is out it can really rip the crap out of your tyres. Much more so than the camber. Both are affected when you muck around with the ride height.

Hey all. Thanks for the (on - topic) replies.

I've tried Antique Tyres. They can't get 'em anymore. I could import them from the states, but the freight would be a killer, and apparently customs don't like unmounted tyres

I need these tyres because I've already got the rear ones & I need a matching tyre and tread type for the front.

hey zeeman, Iknow they look the part, but was talking to the judge owner, and they are terrible to drive with on the front. He says theyr'e deadly....litteratly any ruts or holes in the road and they just pull the van unexpectedly into them ......he said he's nearly had a couple of head ons because of them.  sorry . Dano
Can I go play now...?
