A lot of faffing about later.............

Mirrors done and fitted... (damn focus!)

Rear bumpers refitted.

Bumper and corner pieces painted and undersealed and fitted (trial fittnig for now I will use more bolts and some seam sealer tomorrow)

Along with grill, trim piece under grill and indicators.

Its not perfect, buts its as I imagined it would be so I'm happy.

Just got a few more bits to fit and its MOT time on monday!!! (Yikes!)

nice slots, lets see some better pics of the truck.

Today I fitted the corner bits properly today, fitted the rear door handle (though I'm sure I'm missing a little rubber footprint of the handle to go between the handle and doorskin)

Took the van outside, cleaned out all the junk from inside, swept it out and blew the majority if the dust out with the airline.  Rinsed the outside off and sponged it down with plain water.

There is some tidying up to do still

Some overspray here and there, more sealant needed round the side window (cosmetic only) Screws in the awning, awning anti rattle clamps (need plating) number plates need renewing (again, cosmetic)

It also needs new door cards and all the interior door furniture refitting.

Underlay beneath footwell rubber lining.

New carpet in rear.

New rear cabinets and rear wheel well covers (bed/rear seat base) incorperating immersion heater, sink and gas/tool locker)

New linings on rear doors and side door to replace worn lining made of carpet.

Front seats re-uphulstored.

before

after

Having a clearout...

Interior after months in a bodyshop with dust getting in everywhere.

I have cleaned most of it out now.

far out hasnt the pannel shop ever heard of masking some sheets of plastic over the removed doors etc,
that bloody dust gets in everywhere.
and creates a nightmare trying to clean it all back out.
me thinks prevention is better than cure.

big difference , looks great now,
bet ur wrapped.

1 week in.

There is some rubbing on the fronts with a certain steering angle when braking (T Junctions) and extreme suspension articulation (potholes) no worries, I can alter things a bit.

Braking on a slight turn (approaching a T junction)

(Pothole)

Meanwhile....

Things have been moving along on the interior.  My Father in law, Dennis, is a lifelong carpenter and joiner, he has a nice woodwork shop, this job is a walk in the park for him, he is enjoying it and I letting him know how I want things and helping where possible.

Dennis doing his thing...

(He's shy)

Me helping where possible...

My lovely wife, Ruth, who with the help of her Mum has sourced the carpet and door card fabrics.

The best plan is to reproduce what was already there asa far as the bed base goes, I saved all the old stuff so it is easy for Dennis to reproduce.  This is good because we can use all the original cushions.

This is what we have so far, at the moment it's all held together with the two props between the units. I need to paint/stain it and screw it all together at some point and cut some holes for hook up power socket and heater vents etc...

cabinets are to follow.
