How many seats?
« on: November 18, 2009, 03:33:54 PM »
Just got the rego renewal for the Bedford and noticed it's registered as a 2 seater ??? It has 5 seats, but the back ones may have been put in any time. They are a passenger side 2 seat bench and base bolted to the floor behind the drivers seat. There are seatbelts in all 5 positions. Now, the back seats may not be kosher, but I thought all beddies came with three seats in the front. I called the RTA and they said it was originally registered as a 2 seater, in 1980 and that they have no data sheets for the CF. I never noticed before as they  only recently seem to have put the seating on the rego certificate. They told me I can go to a blue slip mechanic and get the records altered. has anyone else been through this?

i wouldnt bother. but its up to you.

some came with 3 seats and some with 2 actually i dont know how many came with 3 and 2 cause its so rare you see beddies with orignal seats. actually from all the bedfords ive seen i dont think i have seen any with 2 orig seats. its possible they came with only 3 seaters.. weird

i like the original seats. they are good for your back

I have on occasions put the baby seat in the front of my beddy so my wee girl can come for a ride, but in saying that I don't have factory beddy seats anymore. I have toyota van seats, I like them because of the fold down arm rests, makes it more like driving a large arm chair around.

My CF originally had the 3 seats in the front when I got it.

Cheers Jeff
Just customize it!

Hey Guys, When i bought my first beddy brand new off the show room floor, the sales-man rambled of the optional extras that i could purchase, very limited back then as they were purely a commercial application vehicle, Colour- only red, white or yellow, Doors- front slam or slideing, or with or without side door,Seats- well i was amazed when he asked me if i wanted a passenger seat," as an optional axtra " so they only ever came out as a single seater, because of there commercial application, then any thing else, 2 saeters, 3 seaters were all speced that way on demaned as people purchased them. :)

do all beddies have the eight holes in the back floor? a little over 10 cent piece sized and they look like they could be seat bolt holes?

or are they chassis bolt holes or something else?

i originally had two Holden seats on single boxes but i swapped the passenger side single for mezmo's double seat and base. a friendly waning to other members... do not joke around after you get a double front seat about your miss's bum size... duh!

ps mez your beddie made me green with envy...

I had an anchorage point put in just behind the middle seat, so the strap runs straight up and over the top of seat to the top of the safety seat.
Don't know if it was much use, and glad i didn't find out.
Still use it for the boy but with a harness now that he is ten.

mm.. okay thanks Worzel ..

I am being extra cautious with all the unwanted attention beddies have been getting lately to make sure it is legal etc ..
reckon i will just book it in and wear the costs of it ..

want the wee one safe anyway ..

cheers!
