Lowest price for a runner?
« on: October 30, 2009, 07:57:35 PM »
Hi im a long time lurker recent member. What sorta price should i be expecting to pay for a runner?  Being a student im pretty strapped for cash most of the time and can probably spend around 2-3k most, should i keep saving or just keep looking ?

it all comes down to how much work its going to need or what you want it for.

do you want to customize it or not??

do you want a cheep do upper or a done up job.

how mechanical are you as beddys seem to take up a bit of time to keep on the road unless you got deep pockets and can pay to have things done for you.

prices can go from $500+ for a needs rust & work done to it to a $8000+ has v8 etc.. all done van.

keep looking & you will find a good buy.

something thats too good for the price has something hidden somewere...

good luck..

Yeah ide love to customize it in the future but for now i just need a van to get me from a to b (and yes it has to be a beddy :P)

so for the moment i want a cheap do upper.

Im not terribly mechanical but im sure i could get rid of the rust ( i can weld ok) and paint it too .anything thats physical i could do myself im sure.

Thanks for the heads up on prices

look at as many as you can, especially the ones you DONĀ“T want.
The more hurry the more it costs (i am very good at buying shitty bedfords :D)

i recon $400 is base rate for a bedford cause thats what they are worth in scrap at moment..
ive seen standard beddys go with roady for 2,500 but most wont sell with roady ay cause its too much work,

id say make sure you got a hwy diff with it cause its a nightmare if you dont, i remember my first van it was just stroke of luck it had a hwy diff.. if it hadnt i would have folked out heaps for the roadworthy and then would have cost me packets to get get me around.

anyway
good luck,
ben
