wanted bedford dual wheel diff
« on: September 22, 2009, 04:09:32 PM »
i am located on the gold coast and need to find a dual wheel diff. i have measured one from a cf ute-flat bed truck sorta thing and it will work for what i want to do with it but he wants too much and only wants to sell the whole vehicle - Chad 0414 557161

PS - the diff measured 210cm outside of tyre to outside of tyre if this helps.

800.    ouch.    still i suppose they are getting hard to find but if thats the price they are going for then i an probably better off buying the whole vehicle my mate has, takin the diff out and selling the rest.   hmmmmm. now i got some thinking to do

dun matter now - just went and bought the flat bed cf with dually - i will take the dually and handbrake cable out and then post the rest for sale here in a week or so. It has a blue 202 with elect ignition, extracors and holley carb backed up by a 5 spd celica box. Chad

he did say that at 100 it was reving its tits out so looks like might have to change the centre at some point soon as i run a 253 + trimatic, lol

get some info from Ben, he has priced a change over centre which I believe was as pricey as a second hand diff thats already been done, however you should make up some costing difference by selling off the parts from the beddie youve bought.
ekm ...... never lead with your chin, let others lead with theirs

it pays to do more research before you jump into things..

you know much about changing bedford centres? ive talked to a lot of blokes on this subject.. $4,500 is a good price for a diff centre swap. thats after you have already bought the next centre you want to go in there. it seems no centres match the spline of the duel diff axels, so side gears need to be broached. also other machining involved. and the rest..

no other centre fits straight in either to the duely that i have ever herd of other wise it would be easy.

i have a modifyed duel wheeler diff with 10 bolt salsbury for sale. i have another bloke a bit keen on it but ill pm you just in case.
