PERSONALLY i wouldn't get the door skins, back guards etc or any really large panels done, just stick to the lower parts and underneath etc, floor, firewall, just the stuff that has plenty of meat. big panels a no-no, as craig said   warpage  is the word  ;D

i agree - did my homework on this one and would never go the sandblast on a beddie - panels waaaaayyyyyy too big and will easily distort.

alot depends on the sandblaster a smaller operation is always better (mostly) cause they are not so industrial minded I had the chevy glass bead blasted and it was great.

I was worried, im sure the guy that owned it last did sandblast it (at home himself) and i think thats how it got the little pin holes in the gutter area (not in the drain part but along the side of roof).

I do think it needs to fully go back to bare metal after sitting in the rain with windows open for 3mnths tho.....now mine is in primer, do you think the soda blast could be cheaper, and if i remember correctly from my research, sodablasting leaves a protective film on the metal.....is that correct (obviously not a long term defence).

iv'e got a portable sandblaster that i use glass beads in so gonna use that with a combination of paint stripper first and then blast it clean, but only on the solids bits of the bedy, will hand strip the larger panels by hand ;D

soda blast and sand blast will give you two different types of results . soda blast strips paint and light surface rust , sand blast strips every thing . sand blasting big panels can be done with out warping it all depends on the operator . had an old chevy at my work soda blasted had bad surface rust had to get it sandblasted as well to get rid of it. lucky i didn`t have to pay for it  :D
classic not plastic . in my case bog and fiberglass
