What seats ya got
« on: August 30, 2009, 10:00:32 AM »
Hi Folks

Doing a bit of a tidy up in the cab and want to throw out the old seats, not sure what they are out of. What are a good replacement seat to sit on the original bases?

Love the pilot seats you guys have talked about but out of my budget!

Cheers
Greg

The surfs recaro's are very nice but still fetch a pretty penny.  I oughta know.  My other car is a toyota surf! :D

G'day

I like the XF Fairmont seats, but they are getting a bit hard to find.
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

If you're looking at getting new seats, I recommend ditching the horrible original bases too... I had an engineer make up some 6mm thick steel bases, no dramas at all for him, bolts into the original  mounting points etc. Then I put nice Recaros on top. Safe as houses, looks better plus you clean up the area underneath the seats.

I saw those bases and quite liked that. Going to do something similar myself especially as I have to move the innermost mounting points of each seat due to having to widen the hole in the floor for the V6. Should sort that little problem out quite nicely.

Hi Guys

I went for a set of VS commodore seats cause they were in good nick and only a 2 minute drive from my house to get em. Gotta love the Quokka (not the furry little animal)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts

Greg
