Hey Warren are they in a SWB or LWB model and do you really have to put windows in the side to pass inspection

The van with the seats in is a SWB, they are out of a Ford Spectron, which was a rebadged Mazada I think.

There is a discusion on them elsewhere on the site, but put simply they were a easy add on, the only thing I would do different would be to narrow the wheel arches by about an inch at the top to allow for the rear seat, it fits but is a tight fit and makes getting at the leavers a bit hard.

Not sure on the windows thing - but the passangers apreciate them :D

i think the Mazda version was called "Mazda traveler".

i used to have one and it had the automatic one touch rotating middle seat.

i hear that their is seats out there with belts bolted onto the frames? in other words no need to add seat belt positions along your van for the four out side seats...

anyone got a clue what vehicle has these?

I used seats out of a toyota van, think it was like a master ace surf custom or something like that. The centre seats were single bucket seats with fold down arm rests and swivels, they also have seat belt anchors on the bases which take a standard metric seat belt bolt. So I fitted commodore lap belts to these and mounted them in the centre of my cf, the left one I remove and only install when I have six passengers. In the rear I fitted the front seats out of the toyota van. The van was about a 1987 jap import, there are still plenty of them on the road over here in NZ might be a bit hard to find in Aus as you guys don't import used jap vehicles. I liked the american style captians seats so much I went round the wreckers to find another pair for the front, which I found and purchased and fitted in place of my old front seats. Now when I drive my CF its like driving a large arm chair with a steering wheel. As to windows, due to complaints from passengers in the past, I have put in large american style custom windows during this rebuild of the van. Check out the build photos I have posted on the gallery under rebuilding the body. I also put in 4 lcd screens (2 8" folddown in the roof, 1 15" in the bar cabinet and a 7" in the dash), a dvd player and 2 camers (one facing foward and one facing rear). Just in case the view got boring for passengers. Now I don't get any complaints. Finished pics can be found on gallery page 3 nz nats album

Wraithknight, when we finally catchup face to face will have to see what seats you requie as our club secretary might still have some seats out at his farm in rangiora he is getting rid of all his seats that we got when a friend of mine closed down his wrecking yard a few years back, he was getting rid of them I don't know if he has got homes for them all yet or not.

Cheers Jeff

thats what i like rear swivel seats and you always need dvd players and xbox for the kids while driving. then if your bored with the other half she drives and you can get in the back with the kids and watch dvds while being driven around. oh what a life.(dream)
