Hey there,

My indicator stalk has finally busted and was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me where (or which page) to look in the manual. Wiring diagrams confuse me  :-\ Or if anyone can tell me, from looking at the picture, what function each color wire corresponds to. All I know is the horn wires, not sure about the others. I can then re-wire into either switches or another stalk from somehwere. Am I right in presuming that all the green wires are earth?

Cheers!

Colour code off the top of my head is this:-

Blue (no stripe) is + from your head light switch
Blue red stripe is low beam and goes to your fuse box
Blue white stripe is high beam and also goes to your fuse box
Just customize it!

bloody computers posted before i was finished

Green brown stripe is indicator common and goes to your indicator flasher
Green red stripe is your indicate left? and goes to your fuse box
Green white stripe is your indicate right? and goes to your fuse box
Purple black stripe is your horn and goes to your horn

note left and right and high and low beam could be the wrong way around is so just swap them over, I'm only doing this from memory for clarification consult the cf manual or give me time to check.

Most british vehicles from this era have the same colour code so as long as the indicator stick you get mounts up then the wiring colour code is usually the same.

Hope this helps

Cheers Jeff

Thanks Jeff, muchly appreciated! This gives me a great start, I didn't know which page in the manual to look at. or which wiring diagram specifically rather. This will help now to determine which diagram to look at  ;D Then i can have indicators again! woohoo
Cheers, mate.. I'll let you know if i get stuck

Does your beddy have inline fuses or a fuse block ?

Most of the wiring diagrams have a label stating which vans they are for - early inline fuse/ late fuse block

But I think the wiring for the ignition switch/indicator is all much the same

See this thread for a list of wiring diagrams.

looking at the pictures of it in the gallery it should have a fuse block, looks as though its a 1978 to 1980 model.

I recently fitted new stalk from a mini same colour code you just need to connect the Bedford plug to the indicator stork
