Indicators
« on: August 13, 2009, 06:27:12 PM »
As per my previous post (CF Cab Chassis) I am seriously thinking of buying a CF350 cab chassis. It is currently unreg and on a farm. When I drove it around the indicators don't work at all and I immediately thought of the flasher can. I searched around under the dash but couldn't find it.

Anyone know where the flasher can is located?

Look under the dash panel where it supports the steering column, poke your finger up through the opening and you should find the canister  ;)

Thanks guys, I'll have a look when I'm up there next. I am hoping it's just the flasher can busted or missing as I don't fancy trying hand signals all the way home (about 200kms).

u might find 2 flasher cans in it. one for hazzard an one for indicators

easyest way, get the 2 wires that goto the flasher can , an short them together..
now when you use the indicators they should only stay on..

easyest way i know if its the flasher can or something else test..

I am hoping it's just the flasher can busted or missing as I don't fancy trying hand signals all the way home (about 200kms).
once i had to tie 2 pieces of rope to the wipers, one for me to pull (driver), an then one for the miss's to pull them back.
(got us home..)

(never give me rope an say it cant be done..lol)

fuse 2 from the door for hazzard an fuse 5 from the door for the indicators

great thinking hunterbynature why look for the worst when it could be the simplest

Re the fuses, there doesn't appear to be a proper fuse box. I noticed a bunch of fuses hanging down from under the dash just to the right of the steering column. Just blade fuses with no labels.

pull each one out , one at a time a check to make sure there not blown then replace them back
sounds like a mod or something, mine are all glass fuses

blade fuses are not standard. so its probably a bodge job. 71- 74 beddys didnt come with fuses standard. in my black van i pulled the bodge job out and replaced it with a 76 onward wiring loom. much better..
