1980 CF SWB beddy for sale
« on: July 06, 2009, 02:38:57 PM »
Hi,
It’s sadly time to sell my beddy.  I just don’t have the time, money and workspace to undertake any restoration work, so she must go! Last on the road in Sept 08 She was a daily driver that I have owned for 7 years, she has smoked bubble windows, 7” mags, XC sports dashboard, bulbar, spotties and is compliant to seat 4 people. The 3.3 blue motor (& auto) is not running so the van would need to be picked up with a tray truck or car trailer.
Suitable for restoration or wrecking I am selling as a whole vehicle only. This includes another rear door (cost $100 alone!) extra seats and inside metal lining plus other associated bits. She needs heaps of TLC …….
The vehicle is located 7km from COOROY, SE Qld. (Postcode 4563)

Sale price $300.

For pics email me at hazza69@lizzy.com.au
(I don't know how to do pics on this site!)
It is also advertised locally.

Hey Hazza181

You can add photos into a post by using the "additional options" box below the text entry box that you use to create a post.

There is a "Attach" field with a browse button that you use to point at your pictures location.

The picture file has to be no bigger than 330K (Ithink) though.

I can tell you a few more things about the van…………
It hasn’t been driven since this time last year…..the engine stopped and that was that (I have a new car, so transport wasn’t a problem) To be honest I was going to replace the donk with a fuel injected motor and auto from a VL commodore. I didn’t want to stuff around with the old one.
It also needs the diff bearings looked at. The brakes were functioning quite well and I had done the master cylinder and booster diaphragm, even though I still had some trouble with the latter. (If I remember rightly). It needs lower ball joints and the uppers aren’t much better. The fuel gauge needs a new sender. The wiring is basically sound.
The XC GS dashboard is in reasonable condition for it’s age and all the dials work but some need wiring up properly. The interior is basically still pulled apart so the inner bodywork is exposed for preservation work I carried out. It has worn seats from a commodore….comfy!
The bodywork is pretty good and ‘honest’ with some extensive reconstruction around the rear wheel arches which I can point out to you in more detail if you view the van. The roof is good with some welding repairs needed around one of the rear side windows if it is to be done properly. It also needs some minor structural seam welding around the rear shock mounts and rear floor, some plating on the inside of the front guards and some spot welding on the DHS rear roof pillar. The underside is good with some problems in the rear lower quarter panels.
One of the rear doors is dented but there is another ‘new’ one included. There is no door handle. It has all the original fitted metal interior lining and a single and double seat. I think it was registered as a 4 seater.
I’m quite sure that it could be resurrected as long as you have the time, mechanical ability and money to do the job.  Or it may be worth wrecking if you have the space and time on your hands……..
It has 4 smoked bubble windows, 2 rear and 2 side, 2 sliders, good doors, bulbar, driving lights, 7” mag wheels (Bedford stud pattern, cost $$$)
Either way it is well worth the price.
I can send in some more pics tomorrow if requested, I only took 3 today.
I am currently on a weeks holiday and would like to ‘move’ the van during this time if possible.
Cheers,
Craig “Harry” Miller
