Vinyl roof are they good or bad...
« on: June 26, 2009, 03:19:07 PM »
whilst looking at my photos I realized that some of the top vans in the past and present have vinyl roofs I think they make a beddy look  lower, and true they have been the subject of rust attacks but being able to park my beddy undercover and the different after market rust inhibitors available I might just think about it.
P.S no polishing the roof!

Ive been thinking about a vinyl roof for my van, i like them and with the new technoligy paints and adhisives, rust issues are basicly a non issue.
The trick is to have a coat of paint on the roof thats as ggod as the paint on the sides before you start.

We had vinyl roofs on our limos and we replaced a couple of older ones, the new vinyls make it easy and on twocars we even painted the vinyl to mach the car colour, as we could'nt get the white vinyl we wanted.
By using the elastomer's they add to car paints for plastic bumpers etc, the paint just flexes with the vinyl, it works exceptionaly well.

can you add a "not fussed either way" in the poll
And you thought owning a bedford was going to be easy.
