What do you lot know about "Flocking"

Im thinking about getting a flocking system as im wanting to do some of this on the interior of my van.
If I do then I will be able to offer this service to others.

The effect of flocking is a surface that looks and feels like velvet.
It can be applied to any surface like dash's, consoles, timber, steel in fact pretty much anything.
You can even use it on exterior surfaces as its weather proof.

We did a roll bar on a open sports car some years ago, it worked and looked really cool.

If you want to get an idea of the finnished surface, take a peek inside your mums jewlery case, its most likely flock coated.
In the past many car manufacturers did out their cars glove box interiors this way.

The colour range is huge and its a cool effect.

If anyone is interested in maybe using this in the near future let me know.

Cheers

Ben a good flock gun will set you back around a $1000 bucks

Kirk
Way back when I was buildng kit set sports cars we did a stand for ourselves at a motorshow, we got some large sheets of partical board and flocked them for our walls in burgundy flock.

Then we cut out lettters for the name of our kit car and flocked those in bright yellow and stuck them on the back wall as stand offs.

It looked really really cool.

I will be doing flocking here very soon, but it maybe too costly to ship your dash over and back again.

Your looking at around $300 NZD to flock a whole dash.

Hi Guys N Gals,
Has anyone followed this thread up? I'd love to buy the gear needed to get the flocking result.
Please, if anyone has any info, PM Me or give me a call on 0413 621 222.
I note that Silverado suggests equipment for around a grand but where from? I Like NZ but I would like a contact here. :o

Thanks Stevo, I'm still doing the research and trying to find anyone who has used an applicator like the first one on that page.
Anyone done any at all?
