Just wondering where you guys with gas have your tanks mounted and what size they are?

Thanks
Shane

On the Chev, I had 2 slim line 60litre tanks, mounted between the chassis rail and side step on either side.

On Kath's beddie we have a 60 litre tank mounted at the back between the diff and bumper.  Looking at changing the one tank two 2 slimlines in November when they have to be certified again.  Kath wants to go all gas and rip out the existing petrol tank, and put both tanks either side like the chev, as at the moment it hangs down very low and looks ugly.  I want to move the petrol tank to the back where the gas tank now sits.

Yeah I want to go straight gas in my van too, but I want to have at least 100 litres available.

Post some pictures up once you get the 2 slim tanks fitted.

Thanks

Hi Shane, not sure exactly how big the tanks will be, but the biggest I can get in the better.  Have to move the battery box, and see what else I can safely move to make way for them.  Have to get a tune up on Alien8 soon so I will ask the gas man for his opinion.

Let us know what you find out mate. I want to fit a 302 in my van but with todays petrol prices its kinda off putting so I'm hoping I can go straight gas.

Just a thought I think the Govt are giving a rebate on fitting gas to older vehicles.  Be worth a visit to a gas fitter to find out how much but I think it was about $1500. So after the rebate it should cost about $1500 or close to.

The rebate is $2000 which is another reason I'm keen on going gas ;D

From memory when I last asked the gas man about the tanks, I think we were able to get a 60 litre in each side, but the battery had to be moved and the fuel tank had to be removed  as well.
I am going to cut the bottom of the doors and put running boards on and then the battery will go in where the step used to be. If thats any help.

120L would be nice and moving the batteries is no big problem. Sound like 2 tanks might be the way to go.

They can make tanks in most sizes so there should be a slimline to fit. Let me know if you find out first. ;D
