well im doing conversion at the moment so well see how we go.

ive had friends that have done thier own conversion and got the rebate. hmmm if i dont get the rebate ill be annoyed but its better than paying someone to do what i can do myself..

I have a 90 liter gas tank between the diff and bumper which is level with the diff. but they'd mounted it only to the sheet metal floor which after time fatigued and almost dropped out! Scary..
I made up some thick plates for it to have better support. But 90l goes a bloody long way, over 500k!
I'm running a 186 btw..
1976 SWB CF, 186 block, LPG customised VK EFI self ported Head, LPG converted Ram tube manifold, Extractors, Supra 5 speed, Falcon hwy Diff, HQ Disc brakes, Commodore 3 core cross-flow radiator, HEI, 90 litre LPG.
It can drive up a wall in 5th gear and across the Sun without overheating!

I'm looking at running a late 5L(302) and I'd like to get 500ks before filling up.

Hi Adam S, Already have gas on Alien8, and the gas converter is just under the heater box on the passenger side and there's no room on the drivers side,  because of the water bottle, horn, and not enough room to get a battery in around the brake master cylinder and brake lines.  WHERE DID YOU PUT THE BATTERY. I couldn't find any more room.

be carefull mounting batteries inside cab, they give off a gas when charging,
which is not good to breath in and is conbustable.
batteries can explode as well. ive had a few explode, 1 was my own stupid fault= never put leads with sparkplugs in on top of battery and turn motor over to see if they spark. ouch, acid stings when u get it in ur eyes and all over yourself.

i got gas in the LWB 350 chev, 2 tanks 100 ltr inside along drivers side and 80 ltr under back, some one spent lots gettin it installed. its got no petrol tank, but still got the carby and still an option, i might make a small slimline tank to go where orig one was.
gas is the way to go though, with petrol prices.

Hi Marty, Welcome back to Beddy mayhem! Would it be possible to take some pics of the gas system on your van? Mainly the carby setup amd the location of the mixer. I'm running a 350 chev also and want to convert it but don't know what bits I need. If you could give me some part numbers or makes of the bits used on yours. Don't worry about the tanks mine is already mounted, but the rest of the gear confuses me.
Oh if anyone else knows the bits I'm after feel free to let me know.
Thanks in advance.
