nope no suggestions.. they all seem to come out not too hard for me.. it could be rusted a bit i guess.. that would make it very hard to get out but ive never seen it before..

you tryed putting bolt back on a bit and smaking it with a hammer to free it up??

cheers, yeah, ive tried as much as i can think of. have put a bar on the end of the pin and been smashing it with a hammer, tried a big g clamp, and even tried heating it. none of it seems to work. oh well, will keep trying.

hey nev where in melbourne are you?

yes that does present a huge problem if you cant get that pin out..

i take it youve tried a sledge hammer? to save the bolt screw on the nut onto the end so you dont ruin the thread..

the only other thing i can think of which id doubt will help is wd40 sprayed onto it and left for a few days to really soak in well.. then try smacking again.

ive had rear shakel bushes before i cant get out no matter how much i try. just had to cut them off.. only thing is its a little bit easier to cut a shackle bush than the bolt holding a front end wishbone on!!!!!! far out!!!

I had one with the same issue. I was hitting it that hard that it bent the area around where the bolt goes threw
and I had to throw away the cross member away. I still didn't get the bolt out. I didnt have any way of heating it, that
might of helped.
And you thought owning a bedford was going to be easy.

yep, i'd put the nut on and hit it as many times as it takes, but remember, you're trying to jar the rust, not bend the metal.
It can take ages and it might not ever come out, but half an hour of heavy tapping might work wonders.
I had a rear spring shackle that wouldn't budge, so i dhrilled a hole through the panel so i could hit it with a bigger hammer and an iron bar, but it just bent the bracket, which gave me enough room to get in with a hacksaw blade. :D

thanks for the help, i havn't bent the cross member as yet, but bashed the f*** out of the pin (will mabye need a new one). did think about that though and thinking it could be easier to get a new cross member. im in preston, gotta work for the next few days then keep trying to get it out. i also thought i could mabye grind off the end of the pin without the thread and bash it out the other way. havn't tried that yet though.

if you can get someone to twist the back of the pin with a shifter while you bash it might help.
If is stuffed then centre road wreckers in springvale  have 3 or 4 crossmembers

Had this exact problem.
Bashed away for a while with no joy. Tried soaking in WD40.
Wanted to turn the pin instead of hitting it but very hard to hold the head of the pin that only has 2 flats on it.
Lateral thinking ... put the head of the pin in the vice and turn the crossmember back and forth.
Eventually loosened enough to remove with simple tapping.
