Check you welsh plugs..

well had an issue with the red 202 in the exhaust gasket had gone so removed the extractors and saw this white (lime scale) type marks down the side of the block.. then looking close wiped the front welsh plug and yep it was weeping.. so thought well if its off do all 3 even if just the front one was weeping... well the main one (front) was a pain to get out and had to do it in bits.. then the middle was better to get out but when it flipped it went into the head... oooooohhh man... but after playing around with a screw driver and long nose pliers i got it out.. it was eating away but intact.. the end one in the cab was easier to get out by now.. but to my surprise it had a hole in it that was being kept sealed by a flake of rust... so all now have Brass in them and looking at the block i'm thinking if im keeping it long term i may do the whole block frost plugs and oil way. the whole 202 kit is $35 AU on ebay..

I normally just punch them straight in.
And fish them out with long nose locking pliers.
Sand the holes with some wet n dry.
Then use stag welch plug paste and refit brass ones.

         Curious to know , when your replacing the welsh plugs .
                                     To  replace the one that sits at the back of the block behind the flywheel ,
                                     Do you have to remove the whole transmission or manual to get to it ?
                                     Or is there some simpler way of doin it ?
