ok guys i just put my 83 cf camper over the scales and just about died..

What does the campers out there weigh??  ???

my camper eas 2.44 tone with 75ltr water, awning, gen, etc... but no people in it at the time.. only cost $5.00 for the print out docket.

so whats yours weigh?

what are the laws about taking out the front center radiator brace & making it a bolt on , bolt off part?? as would make removing the motor alot better.

as far as i know it is not a major structur of the van/truck.

anyone know??

Warren you are correct, if you do this in the Mk 1 you need to brace each side with 2inch x 3ml flat steel runners. (for WOF reasons)
I did this on mine before I changed it to a Mk 2 front, this old photo shows the bolt holes the steel was bolted too. ( this passed WOF)

looks like what i want to do... saves taking the body so high in removing the motor.

the brace steel goes behind the front bolt holes either side?? & was it welded in or not. ??
