CF2 280P Ambulance
« on: January 12, 2016, 11:48:27 AM »
Hi all,

My wife and I have just purchased a 1986 Bedford CF2 280P Ambulance with the plan to turn in into a nice and simple camper.
We bought her on 30 December, flew half way down the country on New Years Eve then drove up the North Island on New Years Eve and Day. Was a great trip and Beddy ran great.

For the last 9 years it has been the promo car for The Rock radio station which either means it's been taken good care of or you know...
From what I can see she seems pretty standard with the 202 Red motor and trimatic. Reports are she has done over 400k but seems to run well.
Only thing that was hard was the noise from motorway driving so might look at getting a 4 speed for her. Which is the best and easiest to fit?

The old sign writing had been on for many years and has left not only ghosting but a raised outline which is proving quite difficult to remove.
I think she is going to need a new paint job which will definitely be a DIY job - just need to figure out how to actually do it haha.

Right now I'm on the hunt for a front grille as the one in there is cracked and missing a section on top left, 2 door mirrors (current ones are mismatched and very wobbly) and possibly a bumper as the old girl has had a ding at some point. Any ideas for where I could initially find a grill and mirrors?
