CF 250 speedometer

finally got a cable made for my speedo, fitted it ... and now the speedo bumped between speeds for a while then died altogether. i think i need a new speedometer. Anyone?

If the speedo is "jumping" it is generally the cable not running smoothly. Check that there are no "tight" bends or is the outer cable isn't kinked?

Before you replace the speedo/gauges, check that the cable is seated in the speedo properly.... like is the odometer changing? If yes, check the cable is turning. If again yes....you need a new speedo.

Also you could try squirting some oil down inside the cable to make sure it is lubricated.
