292 chev 6cyl into bedford van or motor home
« on: December 13, 2014, 02:27:35 PM »
hi all. does any one know  of a chev straight 6 cyl  into a bedford van ever been done.  the 292 chev put out high torque at low rpm. am think puting this torque into tall hwy gearing and run on lpg with about 11.1 comp ratio to make use of the lpg  high octang.

yeah should be a good option, would be like having a V8 without the V :)
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

thanks sammy for your replie.    I was thinking the 292 6cyl would bolt in easyer than a v8. from what i have read the v8s have to have body work done to make room for the v8.  the 292 chev puts out about 270ft of torque at 1700 rpm. these engines come out in bedford trucks and chevy 6 tonne trucks.  think with a HEI dizzy@ coil. and a  34 ADM WEBER carby set up as duel fuel pet@lpg. it would suit a bedford motorhome.
