Wanted: bits and bobs
« on: May 12, 2014, 07:52:20 AM »
Howdy all

Am after some small CF bits, sadly I gave all mine away to soon.

1/ the bonnet locator rubbers x2, they go into the front of the guard to locate the bonnet, am after 2 good ones

2/ back door latches (passenger side with cable preferred), the ones at top and bottom of the door, any condition as long as the spring part still works.

3/ inhibitor switch for mk1 CF shifter

4/ steering rack (currently using a crappy one and accidentally gave my good one away). doesn't need balljoints or good boots, just one thats not rusted.

Cheers

Busy, your timing is perfect. Started cleaning out my shed today and am about to list some stuff on TradeMe. I have 3 standard steering racks that need to go. 2 of them don't appear to have any rust. I was going to list them at $25 each. You are welcome to have first choice before I list them.

Top one looks good, they all SWB ?

Whats the difference? The LWB with steel wheels has a longer (tie rod) arm (bit that holds the balljoint). It's only roughly an inch longer but can upset wheel alignment adjustment.

I'm in Auckland now but am heading back home tomorrow morning (only came up for a few days). I can leave some cash with my mum if you want to drop it off, or give me your bank account and I can transfer some funds if you'd like to hold it for me, but am unsure when I'm back up.
Sorry I just remembered, did you still want/need the door handles and was it side door latch? If you want to drop rack off I can leave them out and you can grab the latch and see if the handles are any good

All SWB. Top one is out of my van before I did the power steer conversion. I'll put it to one side for you Busy. Not sure exactly when I will be out your way again, but we can sort something out. Managed to get some handles and a latch off TradeMe. Not the flashest chrome, but they got me on the road.
