booga, I have a mid mounted (project) van, see my web site. I'd never do another though, totally impratical, noisey and has a lot of issues involved. At the end of the day a bedford has the aero dymanics of a brick, it will never be a race car

Ben, there isn't a chassis as such in a bedford, it's a strengthener hence the flex.
A car usually has a chassis or floor pan with sills to add strength, a bedford has the large floor pan and strengtheners as the sills are not full length and are to high to be of any use.
Adding a chassis is an option but apart from being a pain in the A to do is a lot of added weight, adding gussets around the van would give similar less flexing
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"
