yer that was my problem got an unknown 202 red that i was told was all good so put it in without pulling it down to check, was in to much of a hurry to get it going. On the plus side though everything that breaks on the van is something new i learn to fix, soon ill be a beddy expert haha

The 186 is going in mine when the 173 becomes too tired. My opinion is that of all the red Holden 6 motors, it is by far and away the best power/economy motor they made. Of course is doesn't have the bottom end power of a 202 but it also doesn't have the atrocious fuel economy either. The 186 revs brilliantly and with a mild cam, decent valves and a 2 barrel carb, it goes almost as hard at the 202.
