1972 Bedford SWB Camper For Sale
« on: May 02, 2013, 04:00:19 PM »
1972 swb bedford for sale. non reg or rwc, (sold as is)
ive had it for a year or two now, although my plans to restore it keep getting pushed back. i'd much rather see this go to somebody whom will get it back to its former glory.
i had it running not so long ago, ran quite well, should start without a problem.
few rust patches which is common. some rust around the roof guttering and random patches around the bodywork. (no major structural damage)

of current it's got a few pieces pulled off as i was stripping it down, although everything will be provided with the sale.

pickup is in ringwood east. i cannot deliever this vehiche.

feel free to email me any questions.

pictures are below as it wont allow me to upload them here:

Does this one have a side door? I recognize the pop top style. They were brought out by : Auto sleepers Ltd. Willersy, Broadway, Worcs UK. Reg design no.s 914404 and 914405 . I re built the interior of one in 1996 with Tassie oak. The pop top design is the best around with solid hinged panels front and back aided by large springs to lift. Then you can either hinge up solid sides with windows in or leave them down and put flyscreens up. These beddies often have a 'Delux' badge above the cf250 badge and the little rectangular black plastic badge below the bonnet badge. Top units!

Hey this is the same as what I've got. Same year too. Must have been a popular import year for them. Maybe people were sick of unreliable Kombis and wanted something bigger and equally unreliable.

It doesn't look like it has a side door, mine doesn't. Also the left side window on mine is full length sliding and the right hand one is 3/4 length leaving some panel for the wardrobe.

I am really looking forward to hitting the road in mine and hopefully finding a Beddy meet somewhere in Vic.

They were imported till the late 70's, the youngest one I saw was 78 or 79, Old Phil Butts the bedford man in Appin south of Sydney had it. They had the 2.3 litre slant with a 4 speed an the later models, His was sky blue and even had a 2 speed diff in it. They used less wood in the later models and more plastic.
